My name is Herman Engström and I am a recent graduate in web development from Grit Academy, with a strong passion for creating smart, modern systems – always with the user in focus. With over 10 years of experience in the banking industry, I have developed a deep understanding of customer needs, communication, and problem-solving.

During my education, I have worked with the full stack: from user-friendly interfaces in React and Next.js to scalable backend solutions with Node.js and MongoDB. I have also built projects with authentication, API management, containerization using Docker, and cloud deployment.

I combine technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills – I’m the developer who gladly rolls up their sleeves, whether it’s about coding, UX, or collaboration.

Developed and maintained frontend components using React, and worked on backend solutions with Node.js and Express.js. Implemented JWT authentication and CORS management for secure API communication, built and tested features for login, dashboard, and user flows, and used Git and Docker for version control and containerization. Improved application performance by 25% through modular development practices using Concurrently and Cross-env, and collaborated with the team to deliver scalable solutions.

Managed an average of 50-100 customer cases per day, focusing on service, problem-solving, and high customer satisfaction. Handled customer onboarding during the transition from Färs & Frosta Sparbank to Sparbanken Skåne (2014-2015), and became a go-to contact for complex inquiries by translating financial terminology into clear, understandable information. Worked in the Customer Center (Feb-Jun 2021) and at various branches, enhancing my ability to understand underlying customer needs.
